As environmental mandates like the EU 2026 update take effect, the Gas Cleaning System (also known as APC - Air Pollution Control) has become the most critical component of an industrial incinerator installation.

The Objective of APC While the secondary chamber destroys the gases, the APC system removes particulates (dust), heavy metals, and acid gases from the final exhaust stream.

Ceramic Pod Filtration (Dry System) This is the gold standard for high-temperature incineration. * How it works: Exhaust passes through ceramic elements that trap particles down to the sub-micron level. * Advantage: Unlike traditional bag filters, ceramic elements can withstand 900°C+, allowing for filtration closer to the source and reducing the footprint of cooling infrastructure.

Wet Gas Scrubbers Used primarily for specialized chemical or hazardous waste streams. * How it works: A chemical solution (often alkaline) is sprayed into the gas stream to neutralize acids (like HCl or SO2). * Advantage: Highly effective for high-chlorine waste streams.

Activated Carbon Injection To remove trace heavy metals (like Mercury) and Dioxins, activated carbon is injected into the gas stream. The pollutants adhere to the carbon, which is then captured by the ceramic filters.

Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEMS) The APC system is always paired with CEMS. This computerized sensor suite provides real-time data on: * Particulate Matter * NOx, SO2, and CO * HCl and HF (where required)
